This report introduces experimental results on forming a electron beam with a current up to 4 A in the electron gun with the cathode of small diameter - 13 mm. The gun is intended for generation of intensive electron beams in systems of electronic cooling used for prompt and deep cooling the ions in the scheme with a big expansion ratio in a waning magnetic field.
