Problems of designing the electron-optical systems (EOS) for electron gates (EG) have been surveyed from a point of view of increasing the per-unit-volume parameters of devices. The new measure of quality is offered for EOS. The approach to magnification of commuted power by EG has been surveyed. The matching of a method is done by magnification of number of cathode units and magnification of marking current from the cathode through the EOS effectiveness ratio. The examples of the designed EOS are given with viewing their advantage and deficincies.
