Amplification of magnetic field in high-velocity jet flows of metals

Within the framework of plane one-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics problem about collision and spreading of uncompressible conducting material flows the phenomenon of amplification of magnetic field in conducting matter is considered at it deforming with lengthe-ning of material fibres in direction of magnetic induction lines. Asymptotic of field amplification in matter depending on Reynolds magnetic number is established. It is shown, that at high-velocity deforming of metals as a result of their explosive or impact loading the amplification of field, previously created in material, is possible up to a level at which accompanying field “pumping” effects can essentially affect the character of material behaviour.
