Experimental researches of strong local interaction of microplasma discharges with samples from the constructional steel have been made. It is established, that the melted area is formed in the surface layer of these samples. One is characterized by strongly changed physical and chemical properties of steel. It is shown, that the roughness, microhardness, wear resistance and other properties of the processed steel samples considerably differ from corresponding initial values.
