Prebreakdown phases of a barrier discharge in air

   The initial stages of a barrier discharge in a short air gap under atmospheric pressure are investigated by numerical modelling. A highly non-homogeneous electric field caused by residual surface charges on the dielectric surfaces, was taken into account. The results of calculation of a barrier discharge radiation are in agreement with experiments.
