New type of high-power switching electron tubes - electron-beam valves

The new type of switching electron tubes - an electron-beam valve (EBV) is considered. The principle of an electronic beam forming in EBV with deceletation at the anode has allowed to develop devices with new featured characteristics. EBV are effectively used for forming pulsus of long duration (millisecond and second) or for high-speed protective switching-off of an equipment (unit of microseconds). The results of development of electron-optical systems and constructions of three types EBV on their basis are presented. The characteristics of devices are gives and the perspectives of further development are determined.
