Autoresonance interaction of electromagnetic impulse with collisionless plasma

The process of the high power electromagnetic pulse propagation in a collisionless plasma in the autoresonance regime is simulated by the particle-in-cell method. The case of the wave incidence from the vacuum and self-consistent processes excitation in the boundary plasma region is investi-gated. It is shown that the particle oscillations in the longitudinal electric field may lead to the break-up of the initial perturbation into several smaller size pulses.
