The magnetic field in a triggered vacuum switch with the rod electrode system is calculated at the discharge evolution stage when the arc burns in the inter-rod gap. Distribution of the tangential Bt, radial Br and vertical Bz components of a magnetic field induction in the cylindrical system of coordinates is investigated. Successful operating of the triggered vacuum switch at the various stages of discharge evolution is shown, that provided with magnetic field components Bt and Br, created by the current flow in the rod electrodes.
