The microspheres being used in the experiments on controlling thermonuclear synthesis are manufactured from glasses, based on Na2O—SiO2 system. The group of silicte, boro-, alumino- and aluminoborosilicate glasses (97 compositions) have been investigated. The equations of the dependency of network connectedness factor and coefficient of hydrogen permeation on silicate modulus were obtained. During designing of microsphere glasses the modulus may be used as a criterion for prediction of there structure and hydrogen permeation. For determination of sodium silicate phases, network connectedness factor, modulus and area of most probably glass forming a nomogram has been designed.
