The highly sensitive photodetectors are developed on the basis of natural diamond of type 2a. Is shown, that in diamond photodetectors the attitude signal to noise achieves the maximum values only in photovoltaic mode. To increase the sensitivity the unique property of natural diamond — possibility of formation of a potential hole without dielectric layer directly under contact to diamond, controlled on depth, and filling of this hole by carriers divided on the same contact — is used. The basis parameters of photodetectors are given.
