Experimental investigations of the leader discharge mechanism in compressed SF6

  Using of alternative methods of registration of the impulse positive discharge in compressed SF6 with a simultaneous recording of predischarge current have allowed to obtain the new proofs of existence of the leader breakdown mechanism in the gas under minimum breakdown voltage. The fine structure of the leader process is fixed, dementions of the leader and of the streamer zone are determined, velocity and amplitude of predischarge current are measured, the evaluations of temperature and concentration of electrons in substance of the leader channel and in streamer zone are conducted.
