Construction of a gas filled 64-area photodetector based on PbSe with a two-stage thermoelectric cooler (TEC) was developed. In a stationary operation mode TEC with 3.3 V power consumption (power current is
1.0 A) provides cooling a photosensitive element to -50°C at the environment temperature of 18°C. Interconnection of optimal operating TEC characteristics and a value of heat resistance of a heat-sink is theoretically motivated and experimentally confirmed.
