The technical level of PESD with TEC is basically determined by two factors: a figure of merit Z of used thermoelectric materials (TEM) and a degree of design and engineering perfection of both TEC, separately, and PESD, as a whole. Researching of superlattices with quantum wells allowed to realize Z 3-6 times as much in comparison with known TEMs based on Bi₂ Te₃ and Sb₂Te₃. As to design and engineering optimization of discussed items at present multi-area vacuum RESDs based on multi-stage microminiature TECs are preferable.
